Does this team win again this year?

Postby Charleston Pony » Sun Oct 12, 2008 10:55 am

We've still got 3 more home games and no real quality teams (by that I mean Top 25 caliber) so I'm thinking these guys will find a way to win another game. They seem to be getting more competitive each week.

No expectations...just a feeling.

Odds and logic would suggest that we will knock someone off here these last few weeks,

However, we are SMU and can find ways to lose that others never even thought of. Look at last year, we were practically in every game we played, even leading some in the 4th, yet all we could muster was a shootout win over UNT early in the year.

I would definitely not bet that we win another given our history.

After our last 10 quarters of play, we should have a chance at winning
every game left.

Going into last night, I didn't think we'd make it through the first quarter.

my expectations for tulsa were to lose by 30 - SMU has come a long way -but it is now time to stop thinking about moral victories and get real ones.

I would say two more wins - maybe three

We have a shot at Houston - very good shot with UTEP and Memphis - UAB is definately not out of reach - we always seem to play them hard.

Memphis, Southern Miss, and Houston will be our best shots, with Southern Miss probably being our best shot.

I don't feel good about UTEP, El Paso is a tough place to play and they seem to have put it together.

Navy will run us silly up in Anapolis to I would suspect.

I will go with a close loss to Houston and wins against Memphis and Southern Miss...

3-9 season....200 percent better than last year

- We have had a running game the last 2 weeks!

- BLM is getting better by the week.

- special teams looked the best they have all season yesterday

- the defense got some turnovers yesterday

- there were some big hits administered by our guys

I liked the body language of the guys when they got it going -- they looked the most confident they have all year. I think if they'd stopped the 4th-and-22 they would have THIS game.

So I am predicting more wins!

Screw that. This team is getting better every week. I expect them to beat Houston, and if they don't, I'll be upset. Then I'll expect them to beat the next team, and the one after that. These guys have renewed my excitement about the future of SMU football.

No. We just suck unbelievably hard. I mean we SUCK. June Jones gets paid a lot, doesn't he?

I've got a good question. How many coaches getting paid $2 mil this season have only 1 win so far?

No idea. But there are 20 of them that make 2M or more. The low performers so far seem to be Schiano, Petrino and Rodriguez.

How many of them are in the first year of having taken over a dog xxxx football team? How many of them came to a school that hasn't won in 20+ years? How many of them inherited a team with only a handful of guys that would crack the starting lineup at ULaLa, ULM, Syracuse, New Mexico State, or anyone in C fing USA?

The current coach isn't the reason for the current state of sucking.
