Mitchell is getting more accurate!

Once Robinson can shake off his "1-2 obligatory dropped long bombs per game" these guys could be dangerous.

Early in the year guys were getting behind the defense and BLM's arm just seemed too weak to get it to them... it's almost as if his arm's getting stronger game-to-game.

Agreed, and the possible winning TD.

We do have a young team with a lot of freshmen playing. Experience will fix a lot of things and our offense is now on the brink.

Also, look at the revolving door with the running game. Flashes of good work but then injuries.

It looked to me like BLM was throwing with less velocity, but in general, with more (smarter) accuracy last night. And his arm did seem to hold up well through the 4th qtr.

He still made a couple of risky tosses (IMHO) into good coverage. I think against a stronger team, there may have been a few more picks.

But it does seem to indicate that by minimizing the picks (BLM only threw one last night), this offense can be effective, it can move the ball, it can eat up some clock (resting the defense)... And it can win games.

It'll be REAL interesting to see how the team responds against Houston. It'll be a true test of character. And after this performance, I guarantee Houston won't be taking us lightly (as I'm sure Tulsa did... at first).

Totally agree. I liked the kids arm the first day I say him in Katy,tx. Now if we will put the best athlets on the field to support him.

Bo Levi had his best game of the season, and a lot of credit goes to the playcalling, for finally using the run to take some of the pressure off of a young QB.

He needs to learn he can run rather than forcing a pass. The one time he ran he gained 15 yards. I think on the first drive he had a third and one, and rather than run for the first, he waited trying to pass a took a sack. If the field is open it should be ok for him to tuck and run. Other than that and the interception where he forced it, much better.

BLM was terrific last night. Calm, poised, accurate ... looked like that always-popular coaching phrase: "the game was slowing down for him." Earlier in the season, he would have launched a SKUD missle when Sanders got behind the defense, but he showed great patience and touch on that pass, and the way he drove the team when Beasley couldn't hang on at the end ... he looks better and better each week. Keep it up, Bo Levi!

I don't think anyone could argue that BLM hasn't made tremendous progress through 6 games. I feel that the interception had alot to do with his protection that play as he was getting hit in the legs as he released, whcih caused it to come out weak which is never a good thing on a deep out route.

If the catch had been made for a TD at the end of the game, there would be a long thread about the poise and great leadership he showed in leading the Mustangs on a game winning drive at the end of the game.

Good point, docabel - BLM got drilled as he threw his pick. He probably had no idea where the ball was headed by the time he released it. Kudos to Tulsa for its record, I guess, but that's not a team that should be on the edge of the top 25. Their offense is very good, but their defense is a joke. Bo picked 'em apart.

For those who were in attendance last night, you saw the further maturation of BLM as SMU's QB of the Future. Impressive game. Good reads and some incredible throws - including the 77-yd. TD to Emmanuel Sanders.

The 2 throws at the end of the game were well-thrown (imo) but unfortunately the receivers weren't able to haul 'em in.

Great game! Disappointing loss. Can't wait to see the Mustangs again this Saturday against Houston!

What were Mitchell's stats for the game? How much running yardage did we amass?

We played a better game than TU for the thrid straight year. We should have won the last two. Let your playmakers make the plays. BLM is not a playmaker yet, he is learning. Put the ball in the hands of ES, Ar and JWill. Best athlets on the team, use them up!

The teams will get better as the season pregresses. DB will be more physical and our simple game plan will be esposed by that time the qst quarter ends. We can't run the ball, so when it comes dowm to the nutcutting BLM will end up with 30 interception, not all his fault.
