Game presentation improved

We bitched when we didn't like it, so now I want to say kudos...it was much better. Very little loud canned music...the school bands ruled. The Jumbotron was used more like it should be with veiws of the game and replays with a minimum of ads and no silly games. The announcer did what he should do and call the game rather than exhorting the crowd to be loud. As I stated before, when the team is doing things right the crowd will know how to respond and we did. All in all, I thought it was much improved.

agree. Also glad they removed Bo-Levi'n, but left the song. I like seeing the nostalgic video clips.
Also liked the Stars-esque music piped in right before the Mustangs ran through the helmet.

I totally agree.
Hats off to them for discarding things that weren't working so well.
I hope they will keep trying new things out.

Bring back
A LITTLE THIRD DOWN THUNDER
The announcer's "its third down"...."third down and 3" is lame, and is not
working to get the kids, and grown up kids yelling while stomping on the
stands.
Sorry if it wakes Grannie up, and intrudes on the little social gatherings
going on.

Really? It worked in our section. I liked the presentation last night. Although I did find it silly that the cheerleaders were leading cheers to the 12 people (plus the band) in the student section at the beginning of the game. One thing that really seemed off was the timing of the team's return after the half. They came on the field to no fanfare at all. The band appeared to be getting settled back into their seats after performing. The announcer/PA music was delayed a minute or so after they were on the field. It just seemed strangely quiet.

Likewise, the people in our section were very vocal and into the game. I hope to never hear "Third down thunder" again. It is not necessary.

I guess I am just old and going deaf, but I could not hear the PA guy most of the evening, and I could barely hear the songs and sounds coming out of the video screen. No complaint because I fortunately watch the game and know what is happening, but I thought the turn down of the sound was a little too much. Again, if it was ok with everyone else, I cetainly liked it better than the blow out noise.

I can't be a good judge. I've been sick and have reduced hearing in both ears. Everything sounds too quiet to me.

Well I am almost totally deaf in my right ear and have trouble talking to MustangBill67 since he sits on my right, but still thought it was awfully low. But as long as the crowd is into the game as they were, that is fine with me. I was able to carry on conversations with my area friends about the game last night.

I hope the people putting on the presentation read this board - without a doubt, last night was much more enjoyable than Texas State (I couldn't go to the TCU game). Let's stick with what works!

You were not there so there was space. I think he actually moved toward me so yell at him for being in your seats. Bill, Mrs Bill and I were the only regulars on our row last night. XTC played the role of my wife.

Mrydel,
I assume JT was on your left.
The presentation was much netter - there was only 1 time where both bands and the PA was playing music at the same time.
The PA did a good job of drowning out the Tulsa fans when they were getting their dander up and doing whatever cheer it is they do. I thought that was smart.

Actually with the students gone I think I saw Jtstang romping through the student section with reckless abandon.
