I thought Chris Butler looked impressive against Tulsa. Butler had something like 98 yards on 9 carries. He will just get better with more playing time. He could be our best back since Donte Womack back in the 90's.

He was awesome. He's got a really nice burst, and he looks stronger than expected for a guy who is supposed to be a speed back.
Very impressive performance. Get well quickly, Chris.

This morning in his PC, Jones said that Butler would not be available for Houston.

That really, really sucks.

Running backs are dropping like flies back there. Lee Martin and Butler are all dinged (though maybe Martin is back to 100%). That leaves a lot of McKinney back there.

a Fresh DeMyron looked pretty good against a tired Tulsa D.

JWill at running back? He's used to running for his life from 3-5 yards behind the line of scrimmage. He can't be that much slower than McKinney or Martin.

DeMyron had his best game in a long long time Saturday night. Hopefully he can repeat that performance next Saturday night.

Problem would be pass protection. McKenney seemed to be doing alot of blocking against TU, and I'm not sure the beatings JW took from D-lines the last few years would qualify as blocking...

That is just what we need. We finally get BLM to decrease his interceptions only to be replaced by Mr. Fumblematic Willis at RB.

I'm not sure anyone could be much slower than either of those two in the backfield. They really havent showed me that they can move at all.

Don't you mean "since Shanderrick Charles"?

shanderrick was a one hit wonder due to injuries, but donte was at least productive for a few years
shanderrick was a one hit wonder due to injuries, but donte was at least productive for a few years
.....No question, if ShanDerrick Charles had not gotten hurt, SMU football would have been in alot better shape a few years ago. Seriously, I think ShanDerrick was actually better than his brother who played at Texas.

he might have been better but no one will ever know. i think there is not question that he would have been one of the best backs ever to play at SMU
