How many do you think they will bring? Total attendance over 25k for this game?

There will be a large turnout for a Fellowship of Christian Athletes event. We will top 20K easily.

Has Doak's number been retired?
No, but his jersey has been. Not sure what that really means, but evidently there is a difference.

The 2000 football season saw the SMU Athletic Department
honor fi ve former Mustang greats by retiring their jerseys at halftime
of the Ponies' fi nal fi ve home games. Lamar Hunt, Forrest Gregg,
Raymond Berry, Doak Walker and Eric Dickerson - all members
of the Pro Football Hall of Fame - were honored.
Hunt (No. 80) played wide receiver at SMU from 1952-55 and is
the owner of the Kansas City Chiefs. Gregg (No. 73) was a two-way
standout on the Hilltop from 1952-55 and went onto a 14-year NFL career in which he won two Super Bowl rings. Berry (No. 87) was a
Mustang wide receiver and defensive back in 1953 and 1954 who
became one of the greatest pass catchers in NFL history. Walker
(No. 37), the greatest player in SMU's storied history, became the
fi rst junior to ever win the Heisman Trophy in 1948. Dickerson (No.
19) fi nished third in the 1982 Heisman Trophy balloting after running
for 1,617 yards and 17 TDs. He is the program's all-time leading
rusher with 4,450 yards and broke the NFL's single-season rushing
record with 2,105 yards in 1984 with the Los Angeles Rams.
