SMU and why YOU should hate them come Saturday (from Chron)

The Houston Chronicle has a "Reader Blogs" section which is posted on their main sports page. Each blog is dedicated to something different, one of which to UofH. Even though this is a reader blog, I'm shocked that the Chronicle would post this. It is really unbelievable.

I thought the writeup was pretty clever. Even a pf.com poster's avatar appears therein. For the record, popped collar kid has four, not three, popped collars as suggested in the article.

And he's right about Alridge and Dillard. But he shouldn't hate SMU for that. He should hate SMU for the fact that those policies that prevented us from getting the likes of those two are now loosened, so things should be going the other direction.

He's also right the athletics have pretty much sucked since the DP. He forgot to mention we no longer have men's track.

I think he's wasting time and column space by assuming Texas gives two sh@ts about Houston. Nice jab at Simms though.

I almost went to SMU but did not because my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer and I didn't want to place the financial strain on my family.

The whole "mow my lawn" smack is weak. I'm not sticking up for a [deleted] like HoustonTexan, but is that how far smu football has gone? That you have to resort to mock superiority when your team can't get it done on the gridiron or court.

You'll hear from me, win or lose. Thought I doubt it will be the latter.

Apparently he posts here as well and indicates he almost went to SMU.

I thought he described SMU well, but he obviously hasn't stopped by USC as yet!

Hats off to that guy for at least having a sense of humor. He is probably the best writer of everyone that works the late shift at Denny's.

Thank goodness someone hates us more than UT. It has been so long since we have been so hated. If feels like fall in the good old days.

And he probably puts vodka in his martini.

I thought it was a pretty good sendup though, and you can't blame them for being jumpy, I mean 7-11 stock is just as volatile as any, if it tanks, he's going to have to apply at the QuickTrip.

lol Sar is a great guy.

Take him with a grain of salt.

I'll see everyone else at the 7-11 come Saturday though. We got our tailgate setup there.

It's all good. We live up to your stereotype of us, and you live down to our stereotype of you! The world is as it should be.

You're right - Waffle House fits better, doesn't it? You have to dress a little nicer at Denny's
