The University has asked that we not re-sell any unused tickets through this (or any other messageboard) site because of the contract between the school and Ticketmaster. Thank you.

Offer them for free?
Meanwhile, I have used tickets from last week if anybody wants them.

I say any proceeds from the sale of tickets on this site should go to ponyfans.com.
hell if stubhub takes 15% PFs should take at least 25%-35%, maybe even 50%.

Maybe it's like the Texas scalping law, under which you can re-sell tickets, just not for a profit or something?
Suits me. I can't use my tickets for the last home game. I'll give them to a guy I work with whose fiancee went to SMU. She's brought him to a couple of games already - can't have too many new PonyFans.

Just curious, I am guessing the university is able to hold sway because of the insider insider access the PonyFan honchos are given for the features, etc., correct? And not some sort of contract that pf has with the school, yes?
seriously?

No such law exists in Texas.
Is Ponyfans owned or operated by SMU and/or Ticketmaster?
If not, the resale of tickets here is clearly appropriate and in no way a conflict of interest.

No problem -- don't want to get you guys in trouble -- sorry.
Terrible negotiation by the University.
Let's make it so Ticketmaster can make money by hindering the capability of our loyal Mustang Club contributors and season ticket holders from being able to sell their tickets. I get it, and am sure they had no choice and the Ticketmaster relationship is valuable; but, right now this rubs me a little wrong given all the money over all the years with how many winning seasons? Go Ticketmaster!!!!!!

I don't claim to be a lawyer  although I do have a friend who was cited for scalping Mavs tickets  and this isn't a legal debate. We were asked to post this notice, so we did. No, this site is not owned or operated by SMU or Ticketmaster. But the access that allows us to cover the team is granted by the University, so we try to work together as well as we can.

when there is an active secondary demand for tickets outside the confines of ford stadium, then we will know we have a competitive product again.... and not until. and we won't need ticketmaster for it either. this is an attempt to regulate a nearly nonexistant market.

Who cares? The webmasters give us better coverage of the Ponies than anyone  and for free  and if the university is asking them to make this announcement, I would think we can all comply to make sure this site continues to operate for the benefit of PonyFans everywhere.

nobody cares and im happy to support ponyfans. its just so encouraging to see the university devoting resources to inhibit what would be a beneficial activity---(my gawd! trafficking in smu football tickets!) lets go out of our way to eliminate any semblance of a free market that we still have, no matter how small.
who cares indeed.

Osama Obama will set up a government office for the funding and resale of il=liquid SMU tickets.
That way everythig will be perfect.

if obama wins i think he said that every team gets to go to a bowl game and every team gets to be #1 in the rankings. that way everyone's equal and no one's feelings are hurt. I can't wait!

During the last debate, Obama promised to bench Mitchell and play Willis at QB.
