You can thank Bennett for stocking the cupboard with lousy athletes!

If Wilkerson catches that ball which hit him in his hands on 3rd down, we run the clock out and UH doesn't have a chance to score.

I said that in a different thread. The Houston defender made a play when he had too, and SMU didn't. It was the same type of play that Brian McCann made in the endzone when he stripped the ball from the receiver, who caught the ball out of bounds.

To say I was heart broken and disappointed is an understatement. This is the second week in a row SMU has had the game won and lost it in the final minutes.

However, I am seeing improvement, and remember that this thing of ours can only get better.

We're all seeing improvement. Needless to say, Coach Jones was very frustrated afterward, but he also was remarkably optimistic with the improvement and growth he's seeing.

Jones said before the season started that he would not measure this team's progress in terms of wins & losses.

Obviously he didn't expect many wins, but I'm sure he is hurting for "his guys". They are getting better, but still have light years to go.

I'm a believer. It will get better.

Coach Jones didn't tell Cunningham to boot the last kickoff out of bounds, tell Fleming to rough the passer or tell Wilkerson to drop the ball on 3rd down.
