The Navy/SMU game got about a minute of air time this morning. Mike & Mike were amazed that Navy never attempted a pass.

Nice to get some ESPN pub I suppose....

Good to see our pass defense finally get the respect it has earned. So intimidated was Navy as to not even attempt a pass. Wonder if Memphis will tempt the fates and try a pass against our pass D?

I believe they did drop back a couple of times to look for a pass but ran out of it instead.

The QB truly dropped back one time on a 3rd and 11, but you could tell it was a designed QB draw all the way, he had no intention of throwing it....and of course he ripped off a 20 yard run for the first down.

At least that will help our pass D average and now we might not be the worst in the country!

Not only did they not attempt a pass, I cannot recall them even attempting a pitch out. The weather was so horrendous that even snaps into the wind in the shot gun were knuckled by the time they got to the QB. Unless your were there, and I was, you cannot describe how much the wind impacted every aspect of the game. The triple option offense was probably the only offense tailor made for such conditions. I will also give Navy credit for a nice job handling a saturated wet ball and running the offense with minimal mistakes. Their only mistake was a lost fumble in the partially sheltered end of the stadium which was quickly turned in to our only points. A TD facilitated because of the deminished wind conditions at that end.
