No reason we shouldn't be getting these blue chips...

with the amount of QB talent coming out of Texas:

In the next five years or so, one of these truly top national prospects should be coming our way, simply because of June Jones and his offense.

Bo Levi Mitchell is listed. Apparently we already got ours. Yippee.

Just kidding. At least he's trying his best.

Well, the list is of Texas high school QBs starting at Division 1 schools ... Bo Levi wouldn't be starting at, say, Texas or Georgia right now. Hopefully, though, June Jones will be able to get a Colt McCoy / Matthew Stafford type prospect to SMU within the next five years, given the fertile recruiting ground that is Texas HS football.

And Bo Levi will be a good QB in the next few seasons. Just saying June Jones will be able to do even better given more time.

I just want to infuse some optimism into this board. Five years from now we will be looking back at this season with rapidly fading memories of how bad things were. I really believe that.

People have been saying that for twenty years. I'll believe it when I see it. There is no reason for expectations about this program, save yourself the heartache and don't have them.

If JJ gets a Heisman/top NFL prospect type QB in the few years, he is a miracle worker....because that is what McCoy (Heisman) and Stafford (top 5 NFL pick next year) are. Maybe we should lower the bar a little.

Moreso than at any time in the last 20 years, so do I.

Colt McCoy has grown into his role, but remember when Colt was pushed hard as a redshirt freshman by a true freshman named Jevan Snead out of Stephenville High, who ended up transferring to SEC bottom-feeder Ole Miss and is now turning that program into an SEC contender.

All I'm saying is that SMU will have a shot at these kinds of players in the next five years. Just wait and see.

Mississippi is a BCS program. We are not and never will be.

Woah.... where's your fandom of no expectations, my friend? I say don't expect that we will ever be a BCS team, and then if we ever become one, you can be pleasantly surprised.

I learned it from watching you.

Serious, slightly related, unloaded question. Would you rather be perennial top 25 TCU or middle of the pack Ole Miss right now?

Is "anybody but who we are" an acceptable answer?

Edit: except NTSU.

These high powered offenses are alot of fun for the fans.....
Remember when you could actually score 5 touchdowns...and WIN!

Not anymore! These QB's are raising the bar and setting new standards!

6 td's per game: Tulsa- what an Offense!
81% completeion ratios--Go Colt
Over 500 yards offense!

What WILL we do to keep our defenses in shape for this activity in the future....rotate 1's and 2's ALL game to sustain the energy level??

New Defense management necessary...the old school ways just won't cut it anymore!

And how about Marshall's defense against Houston!!
