Wyoming wins at Tennessee

Postby Charleston Pony » Sat Nov 08, 2008 4:10 pm

even though Tennessee is down this year, this win by Wyoming could go a long way in cementing a BCS bid for Utah...assuming the Utes win out. MWC has been pretty impressive in their non-conference play. Wins on the road against PAC 10, Big 10 and SEC

Good observations. I also think the T team is really flat and not inspired after the announcement that their coach is out which also means most of the staff that recruited these kids is also gone. Tough to lose that which you understand for total uncertainty. Just ask Justin Willis.

Penn State just lost to Iowa. This should not really be a surprise as Penn State has played a nothing schedule this year. Yes, they beat Ohio State; however, the win was totally based on frosh QB Pryor's fumbles and not through any efforts of the PSU offense. They played the 2d weakest BCS pre-conference schedule in the country and are playing in a very down and below average Big 10 conference. In fact you can make a good argument that no Big 10 team even remotely deserves to be in a BCS bowl. Shows the ridiculousness of the BCS system. You can also throw the Big East into that category as they have no one who deserves to be in a BCS bowl. I think Iowa did everyone a service by exposing a PSU team that would have 4 or 5 losses playing an SEC or Big 12 schedule. I should also note that PSU will only play a schedule with 8 home games.
