O.K. - I like JJ - but he and his staff got whipped today. Here are a couple of items - and someone who knows what they are talking about could come up with many more I think:

We start the game with a bunch of running - Why?

The second he stepped on the field the tall receiver was their obvious only real weapon - so instead of watching him catch multiple balls over our short CB's head - whey dont he hold him up at the line by hitting him at the line every time, He is not that fast - only tall. They play off him the whole game and he has a career game.

We have the best special teams coach in the country? We got no returns off MEMPHIS!!!!

No field goal when it takes two scores to win - are you kidding?

What is with Turner throwing motion? Most YMCA QB's throw over the top - Do we have a QB coach?

Do we practice snaps in practice? Junior high snapping. The snaps lost the game for us - Bo would not have been scrambling on the play he got hurt on if he had gotten a good snap.

We have no linebackers at all. But Fleming looks good at End and so does Thompson. So lets play them both at the same time and put our best defensive player (Yenga) in our weakest position - LB - and let him loose -

And get on the phone to some JUCO's for next year you will lose
the 5,000 fans we have now. We aiint gettin any younger while we wait.

Thats just for starters

I agree with your opinion on Yenga. You would think with his size and speed he would be best suited to be an outside linebacker, but for right now he is our best option at DE.

I could name a bunch of no name coaches who could have come in here and had better production than June Jones and staff. I know we are building but I saw NOTHING that points that they know what they are doing.-correction-what Dennis McKnight did with an entire line of True Frosh was impressive. Defense was laughable.

I totally agree on the way we played their tall receiver-jam him on the line and he is almost no factor. Someone blew that scheme. JJ?

Ill take a shot

How about Bob Stoops, maybe Urban Meyer, I bet Mike Leach would know you have to play the best players on your team to win football games.

Yup, and you've probably seen a couple of them beat Lake
Highlands.

One took a NCAA division 2 or 3 team from Louisiana to their national
championship. The other was probably his assistant, and is now head
coach while the other is AD.

Couldn't believe we didn't go for the field goal near the end with a 2
score deficit. That surely wasn't a 2 mil/year decision, especially with
your second string QB in. Put the pressure on :!: Pressure helps the
other team make mistakes.

I hate to finally admit that you all were right that SMU is a special case and you need a "different" mental makeup to even consider becoming a fan!

This team would be hard pressed to beat a top HS team here in socal!

Somebody better start with a "D" and then work through ever other position or the 5 years and $10,000,000.00 are going to be "Gone with the Wind"!

Then this team would be hard pressed to beat a middle of the road HS team in DFW....because we all know DFW HS football is better than So Cal HS football :D

But seriously, HB Dad - JJ is lucky no one gives a damn about SMU football in Dallas because he would get ripped to shreds by the media in most college towns. First he gets a contract for $2 million a year. Then he benches a guy who sets the school record for TDs as a soph for a true freshman who has looked lost most of the year...result: 0-9 verses division 1-A teams. We have yet to see any game time adjustments that put our team in a better position to win....something Bennett and his staff were often criticized for.

It takes a very special, or stupid fan to endure this week in week out, year in and year out....but for some reason we keep coming back for the punishment.

Coaches get too much credit when the team wins & to much of the blame when they lose. It comes down to talented players & we just don't have enough of them.

Although I totally disagree with the way JWill has been handled I think JJ will do the same thing here he did in Hawaii.
