Has anyone ever seen a kicker blow up a returner like our man Kellis Cunningham did to Steele? That was AWESOME.
It hurt watching that.

Way to jump on the "nice hit, Kellis!" bandwagon, guys.
When he was a senior in high school, I interviewed Cunningham, who also played wingback for his team (Carrollton Creekview). When I talked to him about his recent commitment, he spent the first 15-20 minutes talking about a recent game in which he had come across the middle on offense with the assignment of blocking a linebacker and knocked the guy out of the game. I actually had to confirm with him that he was, in fact, being recruited as a kicker.
The long and short of it is that the guy is a good athlete who absolutely loves to hit people. Anyone know if it was his hit that kept Steele from playing in the second half?
I'll say it: hell of a hit, Kellis.

Dog numbers? What's that?
Oh, is it like dog years? One win for us is like seven for the average program?
.... I know I just made that up, but I kind of like that analogy, if we win two games, damn... it's like we won the National Championship!!! Okay boys! Let's get another win, and we'll count it in dog numbers!!!! Big XII/SEC/USC eat yer heart out! MNC here we come!

If KC does not make that play the return man is standing in the end zone approximately 6 seconds later. That tackle was made right in front of me. I was looking ahead of the runner to see who the last line of defense was. Kellis lined him up about 10 yards from where he hit him and never broke stride prior to the hit. Any chance we could get our linebackers to hit like that?
That was truly our defensive play of the year. Since it was made by our kicker, that sums up our season.

Kicker or not, that hit was unbelievable.
Great job, KC!

The best part of the hit was his reaction afterward. He jumped and did the motion like he was putting on the championship belt. Then we he picked up the kicking tee, he was still pumping up the sidelines.

Until that moment in the game we were playing pretty flat.
I know we had just scored, but, that was a momentum changing play. That's what Jones continues to stress.
Whether it's the Kicker, a QB, Linebacker, or any other player, step up and make big plays. Kellis did, and it got not only the team, but the entire stands into the game.
I would like to see the play again. If anyone can get the video, put it on YouTube ,or something where we can see it again.
Let's also see it again in more games in the future.
Great hit!!!
