Is there a designated "Loud" section?

Postby Dooby » Mon Nov 10, 2008 12:30 pm

I want season tickets next season in a section where:

1) People are not wearing pink polo shirts and searsucker shorts;

2) People know that you should yell when yout team is on defense on third down and fourth down; and

3) People don't tell me to sit down; and

4) there isn't a little old lady behind me complaining after every play that it wasn't a touchdown.

If there is such a section, please advise.

I know people [deleted] about the students but their one section is louder for one half than the entire west side of the field is the entire game.

Always good to find where the players parents sit. They display all of the things you would want in SMU fans.

Sit next to BUS. :) 8)
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

My favorite was sitting at the SMU section at the Navy game, standing during the kickoff, and getting approached by some [deleted] to tell me "could you sit down? These ladies cannot see". Those women were sitting on their hind ends sending text messages. They promptly left about 5 minutes into the game when the drizzle started.

The first few rows of section 203, we make so much noise

that sometimes we will make people move away.

I don't believe season tickets are sold in the band section.

I sit in section 206, near the top. The group of guys behind me and I are the only ones who make any noise at all, and are constantly asked by the group next to us, in section 207, to please stop being so loud.

There is a gentleman who brings his wife and two sons to every game in 207 who is always yelling and trying to get the crowd fired up, only to have the people who sit behind him tell him to sit down and be quiet.

If the loud and rowdies want to try and take over a section, let me know which one. I will gladly move my 4 seats over there so I can be a fan again.

It is really my fault this situation happened. We are normally in section 206 with Dooby and unfortunately we had a football game to be at(My Junior Mustangs hammered the Dawgz in the playoffs 52-0) or we would have been making plenty of noise. My brother would have told said old lady to shut up and if anyone wanted us to sit down then my daughter would have in no uncertain terms told them to pound sand. She is known as the most vocal member of the Allen drill team and is usually explaining to the other girls what is going on since they seldom watch the game. She is also hyper critical of the cheerleaders not knowing what is going on and not cheering when appropriate and rips the band for playing "Hey Baby"and goofing off when the other team has scored.

Come on down to 104. We got BUS, MustangBill67,Arkpony, OnetrickPony, Texasscout (we have had disagreements but we are all one big happy family in the end), RGV Pony, XTC, PK, and I am sure others. I have a couple next to me who are louder than I am, and they are in my generation. If someone does not show up, they give their tickets to an SMU fan to keep the area one sided. And to top it all off, prior to the game when the minimustangs and other little kids are perfoming, all the cougars come and fill our area to watch their kiddies or grandkiddies (don't roll your eyes, mrsmrydel has 7 grandchildren and she is still hot). Of course then they leave but it is nice for a while.

Also, I am sorry to say, there are plenty of seats available.

So Dooby and Brian.....Come on down!!!

You bet your @$$ it is your fault. I couldn't even goat your brother into responding to my text messages.

That, sir, is me. Usually sit in 206 with BrianT and SMU96 and my kids. Had to sit in 207 for homecoming for space issues.

My crew and I are also in 104 (a few rows back from BUS and MRydel) and we do all we can to make noise. There are plenty of people in 103 that make noise, too. I believe several of them are former Mustang Band members.

I'm usually extremely loud but man quite honestly I just remember feeling shellshocked Saturday. The atmosphere was horrible -FOR HOMECOMING!!!!!!!!- I'm certain we lost any recruit that visited Saturday. We fall behind 14 points-and after 19 straight losses to D1A teams, the defense hasn't held anybody under 30 all year, Memphis is running the ball at will, your second string 5-11 QB comes in and it seemed like at no time did the SMU fans really get behind the team. They thought about it after Cunningham's tackle-but they just weren't into it. Its that "bottomed-out" feeling I was hoping SMU would avoid this year. Some momentum-any momentum-3-4 wins and you got it.
