Couple of questions

I have a couple of questions.
First, how many true freshmen and redshirts start or see alot of playing time for SMU?
Second, how many true freshmen and redshirts are on the 2 deep roster for SMU's offense and defense?
This information is not to bash or slam. I have a good idea about the
number of true freshmen and reshirts playing for Coach Dodge this season. I want to see how the numbers compair.
Since both Coach Jones and Coach Dodge are being blessed and cussed
on our respective fan boards, I think fans should calm down, let these
young kids grow up, and let these 2 good coaches do their job.

Not to mention we have had 3 RS- fresh starting on the O line. 1 at wr. A few rotated in the DL and Lb position. Im not sure how many RS freshman have played in the secondary if any. We have had two true freshman playing consistently in the secondary though. But mainly true freshman have played. 2 at RB. 2 at DT. 3 at end. 1 at safety. 1 at cb. 1 at QB. 2-3 on O line. Several on special teams. 2-3 at wr. Am i missing any?

First, thanks for the information regarding the number of freshmen and redshirts that see playing time.
For North Texas, there is a combination of 17 true freshmen and redshirts
that start or see a majority of playing time. On the 2 deep for both the offense and defense, 25 true freshmen/redshirts are listed.
There are 4-5 seniors that see action, with only one senior that starts,
our great WR Casey Fitzgerald. There are 12 seniors on the team.
Injury bug has been a problem, with 11 kids out during the year. Several of these players have applied for medical red shirts for the 2008 season.
4 true freshmen handled the secondary vs Rice this year. 2 of these 4
are now regular starters. I will not point out all the true freshmen and
R/S that play, but I think you see the picture. A very young team paying
their dues, learning the system, and gaining experience.
I see a very simular young team for SMU, doing the exact same thing-paying their dues and learning. Playing the best they can, and working hard to become winners.
I also see many fans with simular views posting on both Ponyfans and
GoMeanGreen. Flaming the season, the coaches, the coaching, and posts about firing their coach. Geez! I want both programs to become successful, but, it will not happen over night. Give Dodge and Jones
the time they need. The work and sacrafice these young players are handling now, will pay off big down the road. Hopefully before the fans
tell these coaches to hit the road!

Any fan that thinks June Jones should hit the road, is naive.

I don't think anybody thinks that after a fraction of his first season. What you see here is our annual trek to the wailing wall to lament why we are losing most of our games again. You know you recognize it.

A question for Stallion....how many of the true Freshman who are playing had other 1-A offers and how many had a BCS offer?
