UTEP and recruiting: once again..

...for the life of me I don't see how a player who has UTEP on the one hand and SMU on the other would opt for UTEP. It's in El Paso, which is a bigger, dirtier Lubbock with [ugly] mountains; the Sun Bowl is a cross between Rice Stadium and the Cotton Bowl before they remodeled, and it's in the middle of nowhere.

There must be absolutely zero standards to get into that place; otherwise I don't know how they'd get anyone. One can tell they load up on JuCos...there must've been 30 senior night intros we had to sit through. I'm sure their departure makes room for more JCs.

My apologies to the nice Miner fans I came across.

Oh, and one more thing: y'all know how we bring groups of kids into Ford to watch the games and boost attendance? Be glad that those groups don't a) sit in our seats and b) run, jump and ramble up and down two sections beating each other and those around them with thundersticks. (Yes, there's probably a TWSS in there, but it's kids, so c'mon.)

I'm pretty sure those kids do the same thing at Ford - the difference is that there's no one sitting in the other two sections.

Actually, we have very few jucos. Most freshman redshirt when they come in. There may be 7 total jucos on the roster. We have outstanding facilities and put people in the stands. We had 30K last night and we are in the midst of a pretty mediocre/bad season. We are averaging 37K for the season. Kids like to play in front of a decent crowd. Don't know about your complaint about the Sun Bowl. Most visitors love the stadium. But, you are entitled to your opinion.
