1. Alabama
2. Texas Tech
3. Texas
in the AP Florida is at 3 and UT at 4. Apparently losing to Mississippi at home trumps UTs 3 victories over teams in the Top 13. The computer corrects this mistake.

playing the Citadel next week should help UF in the rankings but those impressive blowouts look good to the coaches and pollsters

Sagarin Ratings have 5 Big 12 teams in Top 9. Texas has beaten 3 of the Top 9 and lost on the last play to the No. 2 team on the Road. UT is actually No. 1 over Tech in the Sagarin Ratings which is a reflection of their schedule.

Yeah, beating up on a team like SC that spots you 21 points on special teams before they get a first down is REALLY IMPRESSIVE!!!!!!!
Why don't we go ahead and move them down below OU since they lost to an UNRANKED TEAM and OU lost to #3 Texas

I hope it is Texas Tech and Alabama in the championship game so there won't be any controversy. Have Florida play TX, OU or USC in the Fiesta Bowl.

Quite frankly I think they ought to cancell the BCS and just let the Big 12 South(Tech, UT, OU and OSU) square off against the best 4 teams in the SEC.

If you look at what Florida has done since the Ole Miss game (where turnovers did them in), it sure looks like they are the best the SEC has to offer. Should be a great championship game against Alabama and the winner deserves a spot in the title game (all bets are off if they both lose their "rivalry" games against Auburn and Florida State)
TTech controls their own destiny but if they lose to Oklahoma I think either Texas or OU would be a better Big XII representative than Tech in the title game. Of course, Texas and OU also have those pesky "rivalry" games to get past. If whoever comes out of the Big XII south loses to Missou in the title game, then hello controvery
Right now...I can't see anybody in the country beating Florida. They look like an NFL team the way they are playing.

well I saw someone beat them-at HOME-a pretty average Mississippi team which would fight with Baylor for 5th in the Big 12 South. Until proven otherwise they don't have any business being ranked above Texas in a system which is a winner take all championship-not a playoff. Losing to Mississippi sucks but it counts as a big bad loss at home in this system. And the only fair way to continue this stupid system is to judge the teams by the entire season including losses to teams like Mississippi at HOME.
