SMU Postgame Notes

TEAM

The passing TD from Logan Turner to Bradley Haynes was the 30th TD pass for SMU this season, breaking the previous mark of 29 TD passes in 2006

The Mustangs now have 1316 kickoff return yards as a team this season, breaking the previous SMU record of 1292 from 2007

INDIVIDUAL

Serge Elizee - Had a half-sack and now has 1.5 sacks for the season

Pete Fleps - Had a half-sack, the first of his career

Bradley Haynes - Had a 27-yard TD catch, his second TD reception of the season (at Rice)

Jessie Henderson
- Had 2 kickoff returns for 84 yards
- Now has 2881 career KOR yards, extending his SMU and C-USA record; he is the current NCAA active career leader (record is 2922 by Jeff Liggon of Tulane from 1993-96)
- Now has 992 kickoff return yards this season, which extends his SMU record
- Now has 44 kickoff returns this season, which extends his SMU record
- Now has 118 kickoff returns, extending his SMU and C-USA records; he is the current NCAA active career leader (record is 123 by Jeff Liggon of Tulane from 1993-96)

Chase Kennemer - Had his first career blocked punt, getting it in the second quarter

Bryan McCann – Had the first sack of his career

Andrew McKinney - Had a career-long 20-yard rush

Bo Levi Mitchell – Now has 2612 passing yards, moving into fifth in a season at SMU

Thomas Morstead
- Had 4 points (1 PAT, 1 FG) and now has 211 for his career, which is tied for fifth at SMU with Redman Hume (1926-28)
- Had a 52-yard punt and has had at least one 50-yard punt in 32 of the last 35 games
- Hit a 39-yard FG, now is 9-of-12 for the season and 35-of-50 for his career. He is 17-of-21 between 30-39 yards

Logan Turner - His 27-yard TD pass to Bradley Haynes was his fifth TD pass of the season

Zach Zimmerman - Had a career-high 4 catches for a career-best tying 49 yards

Youri Yenga - Had one sack and now has 5.5 sacks on the season and 8 in his career

it seems to me that having so many kickoff returns and yards is not such a good thing. It just means we get scored on all the time and therefore have a lot of balls kicked off to us =(
