Not that OKLAHOMA is the bastion of correct opinions, but they do follow one of the best football programs in the NATION year over year...they had this to say about BENNETT:

"The skinny: Bennett needs another year or two to turn the program around. SMU is a huge underdog, but it's the Mustangs' home opener. Still, OSU has a tremendous talent edge and could have as many as 10,000 orange-clad fans at Ford Stadium. "

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Phil Bennett is a great coach. But like all coaches, he's not the one out there making tackles, blocks, throws and catches. Before long, we'll be able to look back and say "remember when SMU didn't have a winning record?"

Can't wait for those days.

God all I can say is I truely hope that Bennett will solve our problems!
