Assuming OU maintains their huge lead and thumps Tech, OU's wins against ranked teams Cincy and TCU may result in their leaping over Texas in the BCS standings.

Tech and Texas played NOBODY in their non-conference schedules

What's the Big XII tie-breaker rule in the event of a 3 way tie in the South Division?

it will basically fall back to the 4 or maybe 5th tiebreaker which is, BCS RANKING. highest ranked one goes to the game

winning BIG, winning BIG gets them all the style points. it'll most likely be a dead heat for that 2nd spot in the BCS...UT, OU, UF

If total points for/against in the games between UT-OU-Tech is one of the tie-breakers, OU is padding their lead in that category.

i posted all the tie breakers last week or 2 weeks ago when tech last won. however i dont think total points is involved like in highschool tiebreakers

According to Big 12 rules, if two teams within a division are tied for first place at the end of the regular season, the winner of the game between the two tied teams shall determine who wins the division and plays in the Big 12 title game. If three or more teams are tied, there are seven steps to be followed until a determination is made. If only two teams remain tied after any step, the winner of the game between the two tied teams shall be the final deciding factor.

1. The records of the three teams against each other will be compared.

2. The records of the three teams within their division will be compared.

3. The records of the three teams will be compared against the next highest placed teams in their division in order of finish (4, 5 and 6).

4. The records of the three teams will be compared against all common conference opponents.

5. The highest-ranked team in the first Bowl Championship Series Poll following the completion of Big 12 regular-season conference play shall be the representative.

6. The team with the best overall winning percentage (excluding exempted games) shall be the representative.

7. The representative will be chosen by draw.

Because of this margin of victory, OU will have a chance to leap frog Texas in the BCS polls...thanks to TCU's strong finish and what looks to be Cincy's march to a Big East title

When you look at OU vs Texas and consider the "entire body of work", OU looks stronger to me...primarily based on strength of schedule...but Texas lost it's only really tough road game (at Tech) and OU hasn't really played their yet. If they beat OSU in Stillwater, I would vote for OU ahead of Texas to represent the South in the Big XII championship.

Now if OU loses to Missou...
