So are you employed by Microsoft or are they just paying you a fee to hawk their wares?

No I do not work for MS, but I am an MS Partner.

I do get to test beta software so actually getting a pre-beta to function so well is a cause for celebration similar to an SMU victory! :o

I'm so overjoyed Windows 7 is working that all future posts from that specific computer will be branded.

BTW this post is from my regular computer running Vista, so no logo.:(

If you like, I can brand each post with Vista, OSX, Ubuntu Linux, or PC-BSD (Unix) logos as appropriate.

Please advise!

If I purchase a new computer can I hire someone to take my Windows XP off and load it on my new one.

I do not want Vista. Not a flame but its a memory hog.

Any help?

Lenovo, Dell, HP et al. are still selling XP loaded on their new machines.

If you purchase on-line you can still order XP.

Your existing data can easily be migrated to a new computer as well so you'll be OK.

However XP is soon to be two generations behind the current OS when Windows 7 is released.

Most new computers easily run Vista and memory is so cheap it is not a problem.

OS X is a valid alternative as well but you'll have to learn new ways to do things you already know plus you have to purchase new OS X application software as well.

Worse is the fact that the new entry MacBooks don't support Firewire so if you have FW externals you are SOL.

You also have to buy an adapter to hook up any current monitors you own as Apple equipped them with a new proprietary video out port called "Mini DisplayPort connector".

All computers have their strengths so do your homework before buying anything!

OK...then can you downsize your branding logo...as it is, it's a bit over bearing.
