the "announced" attendance this year, after 13,020 reportedly watched the USM finale...was 118,681
that's an average of 19,780
thanks to TCU for bringing by far the largest audience of the season - 30,923 followed by Texas State - 22,218Conference games against Houston - 18,972 and Memphis - 18,224 were just below the season average.
Not sure how that compared to last season
Hopefully next year's product on the filed will allow attendance over 20k per game, but it won't be easy without TCU visiting and our hosting Rice instead of Houston. Will depend on Navy and UTEP games which should be well attended.

I'd say there were 4-5,000 SMU fans there.

Anyone who was able to count 13K people in that stadium yesterday, can count the dollar bills in my pocket, because they could make me a millionare with those skills.

As bad as it was, there were actually more people there than I had thought there would be. The west side was not too bad considering everything. Of course, the east side ws empty except for some yellow shirts. Many left early when the weather turned, but it was decidedly better than UCF last year. And no, there were not 13,000 there.
All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand

I'm guessing 6,000 but I don't blame anyone who was not there

Too bad you have SFA instead of Texas State next year because we travel and they don't.

Opening game with new optimism should bring out 20k for even SFA

When they announced 13k and change, I just figured you were seeing how many people you could stuff in the luxury boxes.

The optimism that EVERY new season brings. We will be running polls on this site after spring ball talking about how many wins, what bowl game SMU will play in, etc...and several will believe next year we win 7-8 games (depends on who subs for Missou) I understand that you are relatively new around here.

Yes, hope springs eternal after the new recruits are signed in February. We'll convince ouselves that JJ has finally had a chance to get his kind of players for the team. Except we are in trouble if the coach has to press true freshman into the lineup. We will have a scoring offense, but where will the defense come from?
