players' mothers on Ponyfans?

Postby Oldmins » Sun Nov 30, 2008 3:10 pm

Interesting to read Bell's mother's defense of her son. I haven't seen this on other schools fan forums before. Just wondering, do other Pony players' mothers follow all the chat on Ponyfans? It's hard for me to imagine having a son playing for the team, or any team, and see such criticism of him on the forum. What would I do? (What would Jesus do???)

You would defend your son as she did. Jesus has more important stuff to worry about. Heck - even I have more imprtant stuff to worry about.

Both players will serve out their suspensions - Bell will get something extra and will be with us next year. The kick him off the team crowd is nuts.

I've met a lot of players' parents who have said they read this board every day.

Because everyone who cares about their sons and the team on which their sons play is on here. If I had a son on the team, I'd be on here, too (OK, I'll be on here, anyway) — it's the only place for continuous discussion of all things Mustang. Yes, we get our trolls, but those who care are here.

If football parents actually think they are going to get some sort of scoop / intelligent analysis / useable discussions here, they are nuts...this is a place for about 25-50 "gurus" (cough cough), self proclaimed experts (ie: gsp) to vent and attempt to impress their fellow Section 104 ers with their knowledge and passions...parents will get better info / feedback from coaches and fellow players...this place is good for some light hearted comic relief, on its best day. There are a few exceptions, however....I think Stallion knows what he is talking about, Charleston Pony is good, LakeHighlandsPony is logical, and there are a few others...but most (gsp, pony18 or 18 pony, thad, etc., etc., etc. etc...) are weak. Long LIve Lamar Hunt.

You obviously missed the sarcasm in ponyplayer's post. That's alright, brother. I still respect you.

Thanks, I am humbled by your kind assessment.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.
