If I am not mistaken, Peruna is the only live mascot to kill another live mascot.

There is another story that Peruna chased the Dr. Pepper drinking Baylor Bear into the stands, creating quite a scene as well, but I can't confirm that.

There was a Daily Campus article about the Bear incident. Back then Baylor had a grown bear instead of bear cubs and thought it would be funny to get the bear close to Peruna to spook the horse. Unfortunately, there is a little known fact about animals. Bears apparently fear horses. Peruna reared up on his hind legs and the Bear took off. They had to stop the game for like 45 minutes. I saw Peruna run through the middle of the MOB when I was at SMU. Peruna also bit lots of cheerleaders on the rump over the years. Although some say, that Peruna was helping his handlers out because the handlers were trying to get their phone numbers. I hope this ends the let's get rid of the Shetland Pony nonsense.

The Fordham killing occurred after Peruna rode a New York Taxicab to the game. Anyone who has ridden in a New York cab understands how shaken a person is on exiting the cab. Peruna was agitated and the ram got a bit too close.

Now if only our Defense could imitate our mascot and kick the life outta the opponents.
