Washington to name USC OC Steve Sarkisian as head coach

That's why Mike Leach and Pat Hill withdrew their names because they knew they weren't going to get it.

This came across on ESPN during the Texas-UCLA hoops game. Guess they wanted a guy who knows the Pac 10.

HB Pony Dad would know better, but I presume he had a lot to do with Palmer, Leinart, Booty and Sanchez. Had a pretty good college career as BYU quarterback.

Huh. I would have taken Leach, I think. Perhaps the boosters didn't want to spend the cash though.

UW fans don't seem to excited about it:

We won't be shedding any tears over this "loss". :P

Sarkisian is a "Norm Chow" wannabe!

His play calling as the OC has left a lot to be desired as he doesn't seem to scheme against defenses.
Too many dink passes and/or home runs when he should pound the ball with his first class RB's.

And we blame him for the loss to Texas in the NC game as well!

I say "good riddance"!

I'm sure the UW fans will be underwhelmed, and Lane Kiffin is having a laugh as well.

Tennessee at least has some players where as Washington has the JAKE.
I don't know how he plans on recruiting either as the rest of the Pac-10 coaches are not going to allow him many blue chippers.

Kiffin will probably get his Dad and Ed Orgeron and make some inroads in SEC recruiting as well.

Probably a pretty "cheap" hire!

This will be fun to follow the fortunes of these two ex-partners.

Don't you love College Ball?

Let's face it: as oddball as Mike Leach is, he never would have 'fit in' at UW. He can do whatever he wants in Lubbock as long as he keeps TT in the 'W' column and takes the Red Raiders to a bowl game every year.

Don't be hatin' on Leach. He's great. One of my favorite coaches.

No hate, GSP. The guy is an 'oddball' but a VERY SUCCESSFUL 'oddball'. Even the TT fans will tell you they think he's an 'oddball' but they love him 'cause he keeps the school in the 'W' column and takes 'em to bowl games.
