Gil has the goods professionally independent of his race. He is the furthest thing from a "token" hire anywhere.

The demand for the services of black coaches in general is mostly a separate issue. The only relation is that guys like Gill illustrate how unbalanced the system is in regards to African American representation at the head coaching level.

I wish he had come back to the hilltop personally. Gill would instill some discipline on this apathetic SMU bunch.
