Disappointing bowl match ups

Postby Charleston Pony » Sun Dec 07, 2008 9:22 pm

How about the Navy/Wake Forest rematch in the Eagle Bank Bowl?

Is the Independence Bowl excited about La Tech vs Northern Illinois?

Houston v. Air Force rematch ought to be real exciting too 40 miles away from where they drew a crowd of 3,000.

How about that Rice (Directional) Michigan matchup?

It's really too bad we have rematches this year...and also too bad that Texas isn't playing Alabama...and Utah isn't playing Boise State...and that 2 loss TCU doesn't get a shot at 2 loss Ohio State

so the Independence Bowl goes from Big XII v SEC to WAC vs MAC. And they've lost their sponsor. What, is SMU running that thing?

Face it, if we were playing some Sun Belt team in a bowl, everyone would say the same about our game.
It's a crappy job but someone's gotta do it.

I would rather be in a disappointing bowl match up than staying home.

It's the fourth straight year for BYU in the Las Vegas Bowl. However, the bowl organizers are happy as BYU will virtually guarantee them a sellout. That's why they chose BYU over TCU.

I don't understand that as well. But they are ND and it has been a while seen ND got blown out in a bowl game. Guess this is as good as any year for a good old fashion ND bowl blowout for the Holidays.

Yes, it has been a long time since they got blown out in the 2007 Sugar Bowl 41-14!

Actually, Notre Dame has not won a bowl game in 15 years!
(Last win--Cotton Bowl Jan. 1 1994 against A&M)

The one reason they always get a bowl game--$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Notre Dame has more fans around the country than any other team. Add that to the number of people who watch purely to root against them, and it equals WAY more tv money than any other school can provide.

Hence, why they are always in a higher quality bowl than they should be, and why they always lose it!
