Proposed New Bowl Game

A new bowl game should be created where the two teams with the worst records play the kickoff game of the BCS series (with an equal BCS payout.)

However, this game would have an added twist.......the coach of the losing team gets fired on the spot--with all legal ramifications of terminating a contract being wiped out. (Of course, if it is a "rebuilding year" with a first year coach, the school could choose to rehire them at a discount.)

The losing team would also have to do something humiliating, but I haven't decided what that should be yet--(not terribly humiliating, something all in good fun, but funny for everyone to watch.) OR there should be some sort of trophy (ala the iron skillet) which goes to the losing team instead--like a giant toilet brush.


And for anyone counting, yes that would be SMU vs. Washington this year. We would have the tie-breaker with North Texas because our win was an FCS team. (Last year, we would have lost out to Duke and Florida International)

BEFORE anyone eats me alive for this--first of all, I am only joking and looking for any way I can to get the ponies into a bowl game! Second, this would have tremendous benefit to us--an extra month of practice, an extra million or two to add into Jones's recruiting budget, and quite frankly, it would be more interesting than many of the other bowls this year!

Alternatively, we could even make it a playoff with the 8 lowest ranked teams as an experiment for how to get rid of the BCS (with the losers advancing, of course.)

Seriously, what would you rather watch........Cincinnati play Va Tech? Or find out who is worse.......Washington or Michigan? I think we all know what would get better ratings!

Don't forget to give every kid a "participation' trophy. I doubt any team that is considered the worse of the worse could generate enough enthusiasm to fully benefit from an extra month of torture, I mean practice. Boy, wouldn’t that be a reward. A whole season of losing just to send the entire holidays getting ready for national embarrassment.

Yeah, I've long felt this game should be held. First, the worst two teams in the Country need the extra month of practice more than the best two teams in the Country. Second, it would get great ratings sort of like people stopping on the road to see the horrible car wreck or watching NASCAR. Third, we'd have been in three bowls in the last six years. And Tidee Bowl would be a nice sponsor for such a bowl. And every time there's a turnover, the PA system could play the sound of a toilet flushing. Although the ceremonial firing might not be good. For example, we would have been in the game last year and Bennett was already fired. This year JJ shouldn't be fired right out of the shoot.

I think that they should not keep score. It should be a positive experience so the players maintain/regain their self esteme. Everyone gets a certificate of participation which can be used on a job resume'.

I like the concept of using the Cotton Bowl to host the Dr Pepper National Championship Bowl. Can't see why you can't call it the National Championship Bowl and then declare the winner National Championship Champions. Records are irrelevant at this point.
