former doormats

as i sat through last night's game, i had to keep reminding myself that OSU and K-State used to duke it out for doormat of the former Big 8, that Oregon was once the doormat of the Pac 10, that TCU was once the doormat of the SWC, that N'western made it happen for a few years in the mid-90's after years of futility in the Big 10.

and before you start telling me "well, yeah, they're different because of such and such, and ken pye was the devil, and we don't give PE degrees, and we have too high academic standards, and dallas is too hot" or whatever reason you might think we'll never make it back to being a competitive program...SAVE IT. i'm just posting this because it's my coping mechanism.

You're right OK State was a doormat back in the SWC and Big 8. It's kinda of funny that SMU still leads the series between OK St. 6-3-1. Shows how far SMU fball has fallen.
