TCU and Boise State just an eyelash apart.

SAN DIEGO COUNTY CREDIT UNION POINSETTIA BOWL looks like a winner.

I never thought I would ask this but how does SMU start to emulate TCU?

TCU is obviously doing something right and/or SMU's academic requirements
are still imploding athletics.

I would not take much stock in this poll.

They have Missouri (9-4) ranked in the top 10 ahead of OkSt. who beat them in Columbia.

Also, Penn St. as the number 5 team in the country......please.

However, your point is taken. TCU is obviously doing the right things. In my opinion, it ALL starts with DEFENSE. TCU has one. SMU doesn't.

We need to get away from this we can't succeed because of academics argument. We don't win because even when we put up 30-40+ points, we don't have the ability to keep our opponents from putting up more. Football games are won in the trenches. Offensive line, defensive line, linebackers, then secondary and skill positions.

You can win football games without an offense if your defense is good (USC/Auburn,) but even if you have the best offense in the country, you are still going to lose games if you can't stop the other team from scoring.

That was always the difference with the MWC teams vs. the WAC teams when they were together. The MWC teams had at least a little bit of defense (excluding TCU who had not turned their program around yet.)
