somehow Tulane dug itself below SMU in the Sagarin Ratings

Perhaps we got extra credit just for even showing up to play TT. :)
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Ok we almost pulled off Tulsa and Houston, held Tech to not cover but still lost to Tulane so how are they below us when they were 2-10. Strength of schedule isn't that different.

NTSU finished one up on Nicholls State. Too bad for Dad's alma mater falling below NTSU.
I'd kill for a Nobel Peace Prize.
