Not that I support or even think the BSC is worthy of continuation but, anytime Congress gets involved, Congress will only make it worse. These idiots outlawed flushing toilets in the mid 90s. Imagine how much they will screw up college sports (Make Title IX look like the work of a genius). I would rather have a screwed up BSC cartel that functions as a monopoly than some ‘solution’ dreamed up by Congress.

Kind of strange that the guy who is the lead sponsor of the bill is an Aggie

Rep. Bobby Rush went to Roosevelt University and

and Michael McCaul went to Trinity University in San Antonio

This is a pretty good read. Based on Norm Hitzges' system: http://espn.go.com/ncf/bowls02/s/2002/1210/1474778.html

Same thing happened when the flying wedge formation became successful. (Just because a few player got killed- The poli. no sense of humor). :P

Hey, check it out. Mack made SI this week. Still whinin' too! Sounds like the current BCS isn't exclusive enough. He'd like to ace out the "weaker" BCS conferences too. Maybe just the Big 12 and SEC. Yeah, that's what people really want!

(Also note, Dan Patrick makes no mention of the fact it was a 3-way tie.)

Even congress could not screw it up worse then the current BCS system. We want that busted up at any cost.

I don't think that was a mistake.

They should pass a bill declaring UT the national champion and dispense with any BCS games. This scheme would make Mack, JT and Pony Soup happy and it would be much simpler. SMU could get the Bush Library instead - oh wait we already got that.

This would not make me happy. See thread titled something like "PLAYOFFS??? ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? PLAYOFFS????????"

I will say that there is no question Texas got screwed in the B12S, but that doesnt mean they dont have to show up and win the title. And if I had my way, they would have won the B12 only to earn a guaranteed spot in the playoff as a conference champion.
