At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I would agree with you.
The one I am still shocked aboput from last season was Mike Sherman to A&M. I just can't help but continue to think that will be a huge bust. I thought Briles would have been a good fit at A&M and suggested it to a co-worker (an Aggie alum) of mine before Fran was even fired (and way before Briles to Baylor ever came up). His response to me was one that we still joke about in the office today. "No way A&M would ever hire Briles. He is too country and wouldn't be able to connect with our white collar alum base." He was not kidding even a little bit. Dead on serious, he thought the Aggies were too far above a country boy like Art Briles. Still can't get over that one.
*Disclaimer* I don't think Briles will experience long-term success at Baylor. He is simply not a good enough recruiter to overcome the hurdle of being at Baylor. At A&M though, I think he could have gotten the job done and been a big-time success long-term.

Jones is a fine offensive coach. I am concerned about our defense.

I am too, jt. But I don't think it has anything to do with coaching on that side of the ball. Outside the secondary, we're just really, really deficient in defensive talent.

I am still excited about JJ coaching SMU. I also would have been thrilled with Paul Johnston. The defense will continue to improve with improved recruiting. We have already seen that JJ is generating more interest and more quality recruits than Bennett.

Oh, there's no question about that. But I still think that some of that poor tackling technique they rolled out every week has to be chalked up to coaching.

These are the same guys who had poor tackling technique with Bennett coaching them. When we get better players the coach's will look better.

I still think SMU should actually TACKLE in practice. Who knows that might have something to do with it. Its gonna take me a few years to actually buy in to this flag football concept to practicing.

Agreed, but it is a fine line. They used to tackle in practice under Bennett in August then key players started getting hurt.
