What the F&*^ did we do to [deleted] karma or the cosmos or the sports g_ds off so badly that we suck so prolifically in everything we do?
I don't think this kind of crap happens by accident.
And don't say the dp...Alabama survived the DuBose debacle.
WTF?
Top 25 in everything we do...who can say that with a straight face? I'd have a tough time showing off the Crum Center then turning around and saying yeah, we gave up a late game rally at home to lose to UAPB. We also lost to Centenary, Alabama State, SC Upstate, etc etc.
And 2-22 in two years in football. Good thing we're over the o-fer season.

We stink because we have made bad decisions. No other reasons. There are no curses. Start making better decisions and things will improve. We started making better decisions a couple of years ago.
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

1. We are a small school with a small alumni base in a large market whose inhabitants all went somewhere else. Accordingly we have no following and no good players want to play where there is no following.
2. We were left behind upon the breakup of the SWC, and that was directly related to the death penalty. Our conference affiation has sucked ever since. No good players want to play in a sucky conference.
3. We have not been successful on the field or the hardwood because of the lack of good players as set forth in 1 and 2. Because our record has sucked for so long, none of the top second tier players, which we otherwise might vie for, want to come and play for a loser, and would rather go to second tier schools which have shown some success, or at least signs of life. See,e.g, Tulsa, UH, Rice, and the majority of our other conference mates whom we have not been able to beat in over two years.
4. Item 3 makes it near impossible to generate any recruiting momentum because of inherent catch-22 involved.
5. Rinse.
6. Repeat.
That's about the only thing I can figure.

The best one I've seen so far.
Guess I'll try to cope and go to Harold's at Galleria over lunch to see what kind of SMU stuff I can take off their hands.

So what is your point? That the guy throwing the shoes once played for us or something (couldn't hit his target from less than 5 yards away)?

Good eye ponyte. He is clearly a former TE moved to QB.

it should be noted that GW's reflexes are exceptional...he didnt have much choice but to make light of it, him declaring that guy a dead man for instance would have only reinforced the point that the shoe throwing bandit was trying to make.

I think this one is key. It's where TCU, a similar school and fan base, left us in the dust.
What was TCU doing as the SWC broke up? They were 1-10 in '97. Were they then just lucky with the Franchione hire and the Sun Bowl win over USC? It took off after that.

TCU is similar in size and alumni base, but they have one thing that SMU struggles with. SMU has to compete in Dallas, a major market with pro teams and college fans, most of whom went elsewhere. On the other hand, all 7 college graduates living in Fort Worth went to TCU.
