a "good guy" who had no head coaching ability whatsoever.
Glad to see him gone.

Just the fact that he's getting calls (good for him) shows one how big of a joke our program actually was (is). It's so bad that no one is actually holding his tenure here against him. In other words - no can or will do it. Hopefully June can make it happen & prove everyone wrong. But then again, June has something no other coach ever had here (since 87). And that's SUPPORT!!!!!!!

NavyCrimson are you the guy that quit on the SMU Mustangs
because we tried to hire PJ? I'm sure glad we didn't get him.
Long term June is the better choice for SMU.

Bennett is still a good defensive coordinator and can recruit to a degree. Unfortunately he did not turn out to be a great head coach at SMU. Whether it was the handcuffs he had on him, or his lack of experience as a head coach is something we'll never know. In his last year at SMU our defense was pretty bad, but after this year, I am not sure that it was as bad as this year's.

Long term June will be better - if the administration supports him. If not, it ain't happening - again. This "support" has been lacking since the you know what. I never quit on them but like many supporters of the program, my support has mirrored the administration's support. In other words - they support, I support. I just don't like throwing money down a black hole.

Giving money to the program is supporting the program, and supporting the kids, and supporting the school. The whole "I won't support the program until the admin does" seems to suggest you'll only support the program if it wins. That's not supporting the kids, or the school.

Did you just say "black hole"?! I think you owe this board an apology.
