FAU Rolls to Motor City Bowl Win

Florida Atlantic has played eight seasons of major college football and already has a winning streak in bowl games.

Howard Schnellenberger's championship experience must be rubbing off.
Rusty Smith threw for 307 yards and two second-half touchdowns to help the Owls beat Central Michigan 24-21 on Friday night in the Motor City Bowl.

Florida Atlantic began playing in the Football Bowl Subdivision in 2001 but has won both its postseason games. The Owls defeated Memphis last year in the New Orleans Bowl.

the sad commentary is that Florida Atlantic was invited to a bowl period. A 6-6 team should NEVER be invited to a bowl, especially one from the worst d-1 football conference in the country

I bet we'd take it. But I'd hope we wouldn't.

Yeah, but don't you keep reading here over and over that if we could just get to 6-6, we'd be eligible for a bowl game?

We did go 6-6 two years ago and we didn't get invited to a bowl...as no 6-6 team should. If we go bowling, I want it to be legit.
