I think the answer is SMU needs to focus, period.
Didn't say give up on either sport, but the reality is SMU will
never ever draw big in FB in this current conference, or for that matter, any conference that does not have UT, A&M or Tech as its members.
It is far easier to have 8k loyal BB fans than 30k FB fans. And if we truly aspire to Top 25, we certainly don't need any 'favoritism' from the NCAA BB selection committee.
Everyone here is sooooo looking forward to the day SMU finally goes bowling....me...I'll take a wait and see approach...as I suspect we will play in a meaningless game in a stadium with more empty seats than fans.
Would much much rather play in the NCAA BB tournament against quality opponents, or even a non-conference game against UT at Moody.
Tell me again...which game next year at Ford has you excited?????
