Rice looks like they have a pretty good crowd.

ESPN.com has the score reversed and I just saw it on ESPN - what channel is it on?

I just got home and found the Rice game on the NFL network here on the East Coast. Rice leads 24-0 with one minute remaining before the half.

Go Rice!
I'm surprised at the crowd, even with the game being in Houston...somehow I doubt a bowl game for SMU in D/FW would look anything like that

Holiday Bowl has always drawn a lot of local promotion, interest and support in the San Diego area where it has always been played. There have been a number of years wherein the best and most interesting game of the bowl season was the Holiday Bowl. SMU-BYU in 1980 was a prime example. Game has a nice 2.3 $$$$ million payout ranking it 9th highest of all bowl games and just behind the Cotton Bowl game, Chick-fil-A Bowl in Atlanta and Gator Bowl in Jacksonville.
