..ran into him at a Liberty Bowl gathering the other night. He noticed my SMU Mustang lapel pin (I never catch heat, usually a nice conversation starter...) and commented that he worked in the Mustang Club offices back in the early 80"s...anyone remember him? Comments? He certainly has come a long way....long live Stallion Level.

Mitch worked as the assistant director of The Mustang Club in the early 80's. Doug Smith was the director of The Mustang Club back then. My wife and I become good friends with Mitch and his wife Connie. He left SMU and went to The University Tennessee where he eventually became the number two guy in there athletic department. My wife and I went up and saw two UT games in 1988 and 1989 when The Mustangs didn't get to play. Everybody should go see at least one game in Knoxville. Mitch left UT and became the athletic director at Oregon St. before going to Kentucky. Still stay in contact with him and I am trying to figure out a time to go watch a Kentucky basketball game.

Don't want to knit-pick Buckethead, but that was 87-88. And stop sneaking up on folks in parking garages.

The first UT was in Knoxville. The University of Tennessee is older than the one in Austin.
