USC

I didnt realize this until now, but it adds to my frustration with the current bcs nonsense. Why dont they let two of Texas, USC, & Bama play eachother? In my opinion, USC would likely beat Texas, OU, and Florida right now. They dropped out of contention after losing to some team from Oregon while another team lost to an unranked school and still made it to the championship game, even if that unranked team subsequently became ranked and then beat a top 10 team in the cotton bowl...what?
Anyways, my point is that USC was bogged down in their effort to reach the BCS game as a 1-loss team because of the perception that the Pac-10 is a weak conference overall.
And then they played Bowl games...
Pac-10 goes 5-0. Even though they didnt play the toughest of opponents, its shows that perceptions like this may need to be removed from this process of crowning a "champion." Do you think the Frogs shouldnt be in the BCS as a 1L team and Ohio State should? Big Televen is 1-5 in bowls so far and a weak Ohio State is traveling to PHX to play some music, relax, dot the i, and then head home after what is expected to be another BCS beatdown where the good team stomps on the bad one. Rose Bowl, repeated.
For the sake of football fans, just match up the best games and stop worrying about whether or not it will muddy the waters around the crowning of a champion. I dont think many people really believe the BCS is a good system and I think USC fans should be more angry than Texas fans. The Trojans are the best team, but they'll never get to prove it.
