When's the Trading Deadline?

Hey everybody! Are you ready to talk some footballs?

This season is allready over, and we all know it. With all the talk about how many redshirts we have, why can't we just trade one of our more established older players like Rutledge to get some ready to play sophomores? That way we could keep the core of kids together while getting younger at some skill positions.

Or, with our abudance of redshirt freshman, maybe a package of one or two of them would be attractive bait for an older BCS team with a bunch of seniors that sees a chance to win right now and would be willing to part with a longer backup who could be a WAC-level starter. That could get us some veteran leadership, which is going to be necessary for next season's team.

I hate to start the hot stove talk in September, but this has been a hard year for the Ford Stadiumn Faithful. This should be a really interesting offseason on the Hilltop. I hope we can make some good trades and continue building for the future!

If you are going to smoke crack, you need to bring enough for everyone! Didn't you learn anything in elementary school?

Interesting idea.

I was kind of thinking we might want to package some
of our redshirts and trade them to OSU to get that
WR of theirs!

You know OSU knows he's not going to catch 7 TDs
against the Big 8 competition, and he could really
help put us over the top in the WAC.

Plus, if we traded 10 recruits for him it would
help OSU get younger and also free up some
scholarships for next season.

I don't know when the deadline is but I think
SMU should make a trade!

One more thing. I heard from very reliable
sources SMU tried very hard to trade for
Maurice Clarett. From what I understand,
the athletic departments had a deal worked
out but SMU couldn't get him through
the admissions board.

Once again, the football team is getting
screwed by the academic side of the
university.

Oh well, we're probably looking at 0-11.
