SMU Inks Home-And-Home Series With Washington State
Mustangs Head To Pullman In 2009
Jan. 5, 2009

DALLAS (SMU) - The SMU Mustangs and Washington State Cougars have agreed to a home-and-home football series for the 2009 and 2010 seasons, it was announced today. SMU will travel to Pullman on Sept. 19, 2009, while Washington State will head to Dallas on Sept. 18, 2010.

The Mustangs and Cougars have never met on the gridiron, and SMU has not taken on a Pac-10 team since 1994, when SMU played at UCLA.

With the addition of the series, SMU's non-conference slate is filled through 2016. In addition to the WSU game, SMU's 2009 non-conference schedule includes a game versus TCU in Ft. Worth (Sept. 26), as well as home games against Stephen F. Austin (Sept. 5) and Navy (Oct. 17). The Conference USA portion of the schedule is not yet finalized.

Guess that answers my question about the return date and the last time we played a PAC 10 school. I think it's cool playing programs you've never seen before.

Sweet! Now we might actually be able to beat a BCS team!!!!!! Uhhh, either that or perhaps we may now allow Washington St. to actually beat a Div. 1 opponent. :? (What am I thinking, of course it will be the latter...We Are S-M-U :x )

I will agree to disagree with you. :)

I'll be at the game no matter where it is played but I still hate Seattle.

I find it funny how we were all saying we wished we could play them b/c we would have a chance to beat them.

Our wish is granted

I remember back in the 80's when the basketball team played in NCAA tournament and had to go to Pullman, WA for the first round of regionals. Dave Bliss said something to the effect that Pullman was not at the end of the world, but the end of the world was only 5 miles down the road.

What's the best way to get there, fly into Spokane?
