Word is Steve-O didn't like the "practice in front of fans" format last year, and has announced that this year's will be much more of a scrimmage/game format, presumably with hitting.

I really don't get this move away from a spring game at SMU, other schools do it. Sure, there is a risk of injury, but there is risk in practice as well....just remind the guys several times during the game that we need only clean hits and no head hunting.

A Spring game is a reward to the players to have some fun and finally play a game and it is a reward to the fans that are ready to see their school play football.

So I guess the answer to my initial question is "No, Junior, we don't know"?

You're right - it wasn't announced ... more like a mandate to those who work in the athletic department.

We're already listed as 13 point underdogs.

Okay, I know and have come to accept your Zen regarding expectations of the SMU athletic program, specifically (but not limited to) football.

But this is simply past the buoys, jt.

This is downright cynicism. You wouldn't happen to be heading that direction, would you?

:P

Well we should have more players than last year, right? And we have a year into the system so practice is not as urgently needed as last year.

So... let the games begin. :D

Actually it was just supposed to be funny, not cynical. Spring is the time hope and renewal.

Both squads? Just when you think something is impossible....
