When will the American public get enough of Big Brother? Have we all gone mad ? A senate investigation into determing whether or not the number one college football team is indeed number one is absolutely ludicrous. Bailouts, Social Security, who is number one, etc. etc. God help us all.

Texas congressman R Joe Barton has introduced a bill for a playoff recently as well. I hope he gets it passed.

I hate the BSC. But I hate goobernment interference even more. Do we really want the goobernment to decide how college football names a champion? Talk about stripping away the merits of accomplishment and replacing it with political opportunism and photo ops. These are the same numb nuts that outlawed flushing toilets in the 90s. If these clowns can't handle removal of crap out of our lives, what will they do to something really complex like college football?

I really don't want Congress involved but the Justice Department on the other hand has a legal responsibility to enforce the anti-trust laws of the United States. I have no problem with limited hearings on the BCS but any gooberment action should and will come from the Justice Department. That's why you have state and federal attorney's general

Unfortunately, politicians always miss the issue. In this case the BCS wrong because of its exclusion of conferences and teams. The lack of a playoff system is only the visiable part of the iceberg! Bowls have multi-year lockups with conferences, making sure than even in mediocre years poor teams from the ACC or Big East or the no. 5 team from the Big Ten get to squeeze out better teams from non-BCS conferences. Certainly the Mountain West this year was a better brand of football than the Pac Ten, 7/8ths of the Big Ten and all of the ACC and Big East, yet all they get are the "Leftover Bowls"--Tidy Bowl Bowl, the Charmin Bathroom Tissue Bowl and the Purina Dog Chow Bowl.

This whole thing could be solved without the 'gooberment'.

If by chance, the college wannabe presidents whose institutions WERE NOT a member of the BCS-BS all of a sudden had a spine, the BCS-BS would be past history within 24-hours. But that ain't going to happen. So that being the case, my suggestion is find another sport to follow, visit your local cigar lounge, & quit giving to college athletics tomorrow. If that was to happen, if everyone who was not a member of the BCS-BS stopped giving tomorrow, I'll guarantee you this dang train wreck would come to a halt now! You would see action real quick as all the colleges' life blood ($$$$$) just dwindled away. You can't let them hold you hostage which these institutions love to do.

This really isn't that difficult!!! duuuuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhhhh

You got it right.

It's about anti-trust, monopolies, etc., right? Non-BCS schools are locked out of the game.
