can't believe nobody has posted this but TCU fans think former SMU Offensive Coordinator Rusty Burns will be TCU's new coordinator. I really never thought Burns did that bad of a job at SMU-I think he failed to live up to SMU fans' unrealistic expectations of turning below average talent into a bowl team. He sure took a lot of shots from SMU fans. Probanly one of the few coordinators ever to go 1-11 while averaging over 28 ppg. and 422 yards per game which was 7 ppg and 108 yards per game better than the 2 Million Dollar Resident Genius. Still a little surprised he would be the pick though.

All we know is that he has been hired as an offensive coach. Most of us expect one of the other coaches already on staff (Fuente, or Anderson) to be named as coordinator. I would be very surprised if Burns was named coordinator.

The problem has not been with our offense.
Hard to blame an offensive coordinator for a total lack of production on the other side of the ball.
And if Kevin Cosgrove can still get a coordinating job, anyone can! (Bill Callahan is still getting interviews for head coaching jobs in the NFL too....)

Burns would be a great fit for them, TCU has great talent and an awesome defense but needs to update their offense a bit, they should be scoring more points with their talent per game.
I am sure this will come back to haunt SMU, like everything else does.

I don't think he was a big recruiter whatsoever. If you go by the Rivals records of who recruits our commitments-none of the kids he recruited have played much or played a factor on the team

We didn't want him anyway.
I'd kill for a Nobel Peace Prize.

He will be quarterbacks coach...Fuente and Anderson will be co-offensive coordinators.

Even Texas had that with the defense for a couple of years between Duane Akina and Greg Robinson -- I think that's who it was. But I don't like the co-coordinator business either.

Apparently, we're still having tough times with YWCA teams. Let's not get ahead of ourselves!
