I heard that Rico tore an acl at practice this week. That leaves a thin secondary even thinner. If this is true I wish the best of luck to him. That makes three in one week with him Lucky and Godfrey.

Yikes.. not good news if that turns out to be true. btw, you only have one anterior cruciate ligament. you also have a pcl (posterior) and and an mcl (medial)
for some reason, the acl tears easiest.. or something. someone with a little more knowledge about sports injuries should post something about it. im a bit interested.

There's got to be a former player on the site who can shed a little light, perhaps from personal experience? Or is there a PonyFan on the board who's a doctor?

The CPC should be well capable of shedding some light on the subject...if you can get him to land long enough to type it up.

Rico suffered a torn MCL and should be out three months or remainder of season. In order of severity, torn ACL wins hands down. MCL tears tend to heal themselves as ACL tears require surgery.

Thanks, fbdad! Didn't know about the differences in severity.
Speaking of knees, how's Chris Godfrey's knee feeling? Is he facing surgery, or just major rehab? Hope he's feeling better quickly

So who plays at SS now? Sturdivant?

Nnabuife will probably move to SS and Harper will play FS.Sturdivant will travel but I think Bennett will try to maintain his red shirt status.Chris is rehabbing knee for two to three weeks prior to having surgery.

well if we're that thin at Safety you might as well get Sturdivant some snaps now because its highly unlikely that he wont be needed at some point in the season with that little depth.

That's what I was thinking. Moving NN to SS makes sense temporarily, but no way you can play without depth the entire year. Sturdivant must be one of the players with the RS coming off.
