And what a terrific guy. Brad could have quit a thousand times, and none of us would have said anything - a broken back is a nasty deal. He's one tough Pony.

His value to his team, as a player and as a person, is evident in how the upperclassmen react to him. It's clear that Steve Reindl and Allan Adami like the guy, and admire how hard Brad has worked to get back. I've never met the young man, but I sure as hell admire him.

How could you not cheer for this guy?

Brads what footballs all about.Talented kids(adults) with the drive and motivation to go out and do their best no matter what happens.He ranks up there with the kid from San Jose who just made his comeback this weekend.Best of luck to Brad, go kick some Nevada butt....

For those who haven't read the story on Brad Bean on the home page of this site, I can't recommend it highly enough. It's a fabulous story of a Mustang with limitless courage.

Who are his parents? I know a Bean in my youth that might be his father.

The Reno game will be the first that I will miss this year--traveling from Mexico is long and expensive. But, the real truth I became extremely discouraged. I will the article had come out earlier, I would have gone to support him and his teammates.

You know, the most famous walk-on program in America is the one at Nebraska, where they say it's like a badge of honor to walk on and play for the Huskers. At SMU, Brian Bischoff certainly has done well for himself as a former walk-on, and this story shows that Brad Bean wanted to play for the Ponies in the worst way - enough that he was willing to walk on, and then come back after that horrible accident. I hope Brad continues to enjoy good health, but also develops into a real star, so young players can look up to him and see what he accomplished - and then follow him to SMU.

This is a great story but Brad also has another talent that hasn't been mentioned yet -- I just saw him doing the weather on the SMU Channel -- and he did a great job. Good luck Brad, we are pulling for you.
