Time for Morgan Campaign $$$

Postby BUS » Fri Feb 13, 2009 8:35 am

Hello to all that read this post.

It is that time of year that we fans provide a little financial support for our SMU Mustangs.

A few of us on this board are fund drive workers and we ask people for money, stocks, gold or... that old car in the driveway.... Not really.

SMU is working hard to change the attitude of athletics. The focus on Football and Basketball is obvious. Look at the 3 star and one 4 star recruits that signed this year. When was the last time that happened?

Thank you for your past suppport and I hope that you are blessed enough to be able to share a little with SMU.

Please send me a PM and I will write up the pledge for and send you a bill.

If you have interest in becoming a fund drive worker.... I would love to have your passion for SMU directed to help the athletic department.

Peace be with you always.

Phil Bennett's second class had 10 3-Stars.

This year’s class has eight three- or four-star Rivals.com recruits, equaling the number of such recruits in the 2007 and 2008 classes combined.

“Obviously, having a full year to focus on recruiting helped us put together what I believe is a very strong class,â€

Thanks to all who donate their time and money to the Mustang Club. Your work is greatly appreciated by those of us who are not able to assist you.

I am curious about what efforts the club makes to ensure that our athletic programs are 'top 25' as promised by SO. For example, our basketball program is 'pathetic', our once successful men's soccer program is now below the top 50 instead of the previous top 10 (where is was for so many years), the women's soccer program has been less than successful and many other programs continue to languish.

Unless you are one of the Circle of Champions you probably do not have a voice (at least that is heard) to urge or force changes in these programs. I would like to know if the Mustang club does anything to bring pressure on the administration to make the necessary coaching changes in these sports that have become failures or continue to be substandard?

GO PONIES!!!

Thank you OTP and thanks for the bball game tickets.

As a Mustang Fan, I call the AD and voice my opinion directly. I do not have the cash to push my ideas but SO does care about the fans. He will listen to everything. We have had some heated talks and still talk about SMU getting better.
Reach out and call or write a letter.

Peace be with you always.
