Proposed DL starters: Margu Hunt...Marquis Frazier...Evan Huahulu...Taylor Thompson. Agree or disagree? Who would be back-ups? Am I brilliant or a total dumdum? Talk to me. I MAY BE SCHIZOPHRENIC BUT AT LEAST I HAVE EACH OTHER.

Until Margus really picks up on this I dont think he starts. Look for Patrick Flemming or Justin SMart to start at DE for the first game. I dont know anything about kevin greiner

I think your prediction is pretty good, I guess Yenga will be moved to OLB, I heard Fleming may get some time at OLB, also have two true freshman recruits that are DE's, if your prdiction is accurate, could have over 13 feet at DE's....bookends at 6'7" and 6"8"

I thought smart was going back to DE. If so and we go to 3-4, Thompson and Smart will flank Frazier.

actually I believe Frazier may be getting a look at DE from what I've heard-kinda surprised me. He's not really a nose guard type.

so that gives us Parham and Evan in the middle to go with the underized Thomas and Dollens

Hey guys, new to the forum. I agree with smu21tcu10. Don't think Margus will be ready but also don't have a clue what JJ might be thinking as far who he may start on the D-line. I just pray that the D-line is bigger and stronger that last year. I do think there is some talent there.

At 6' 4" 280 Frazier does not seem like the ideal Nose Guard to me. It baffles me they did not take 1 (even if he wasnt good) big bodied juco DT. If Margus, Thompson and Frazier all play DE then our DE's will be bigger than our DT's...
This is why I predict a 2-10 season. Everyone keeps saying that the D will be better. Maybe the Corners and OLB's. But it wont matter if the qb's have all day to throw and the RB's have huge holes to run through

Can you at least let them get through spring football when most of the position battles will be settled before you make this prediction?

my guess is Taylor Thompson (6-6 -- 265) & Marquis Frazier (6-4 -- 285) at DE backed up Justin Smart and Kevin Grenier then Andrew Ellison, Mickey Dollens and Zac Thomas
DT (nose) Tolar Pittman (6 -- 285) and Evan Hualulu (6-1 -- 325) (fighting for the starting position) backed up by Chris Parham

You're not an attorney, are you?

No, not an attorney, but I think I know who you're thinking about. I do know a young attorney here that is a SMU grad. I graduated in '86 - back when it was a lot more enjoyable to attend bball and football games.

Welcome to the board MidlandMustang! It depends on whether we stay in a 4-3 or go to a 3-4. If we stay in a 4-3 I think it will be Grenier at DE, Frazier at DT, Huahulu at DT, and Thompson at DE.
