DMN COVERAGE

If you look in the DMN today, you will notice SMU once again gets a big bag of nothin'! PONYFANS.COM is home, but, for Pony info junkies like myself, the rivals and scout websites have been great, for DAILY news and features on the Mustangs. And Stallion will be quick to tell you, it's good for our recruiting, it helps SMU look like a legitimate player again. So please stop the crying :P

Does the DMN do daily practice reports from Longhorn and Aggie spring practice? If not, we have absolutely NOTHING to complain about.

"Does the DMN do daily practice reports from
Longhorn and Aggie spring practice?"

Are "Longhorn and Aggie" practices in DALLAS?

Is the DALLAS Morning News in DALLAS?

They wouldn't cover Longhorn and Aggie spring practice DAILY even if the Dallas Morning News was IN Austin or Collie Station.

I'm 99% sure that the American-Statesman doesn't cover Longhorn spring practice daily either!

If you want to complain about the DMN, complain about how we get 2 paragraphs about our games on page 4 while the Sooners make the front page.

Everyone who follows SMU reads this board already. So no need for the DMN to cover SMU, it just wastes ink.

Really what are they going to report-the Shirts beat the Skins 10 Powder Puff Flags to 7. They ain't playing Football-why in the world would anyone report on Flag Football. If you want them to report run a real scrimmage-those often make the papers. Only 50-100 bother to show up-this is a big city with a lot more interesting things to report than Flag Football Results

I wasn't complaining about the DMN this morning, just stating a fact, and how these subscription sites are great for info junkies.

We might not need or deserve coverage from the D.M.N.

but as Mustang fans , why would you not want some

coverage, it might remind the rest of Dallas that we

still exist, some of you guys are the enemy within.

They are great for people who can't wait a couple days to get information.
Apparently, their discussion boards must not be so great.

To me, its like when a new movie comes out.
Some people have to go the first night.
Some prefer to wait.
Those who are patient are better informed as there will be information from multiple sources as to what they are going to see.

The recruiting services also gives SMU media exposure to the recruits. A recruit leaves USC or OU and he gets interviewed by the local paper and 2 or 3 recruiting services. To a high school kid this is great. Used to be a recruit could come and go to SMU with no media coverage. At least now SMU has a more level playing field recruiting wise with the 2 services and the DMN.

You are correct, but, I think you're wasting time, trying to reach some of these stuck in the dark ages nimrods.

How about the fact that helping them helps SMU. So buy a damn subscription to either one, it doesn't matter, and it's not going to take away from Ponyfans because even the New York Times knows it's the place for Mustang Talk.

Stallion doesn't like that June Jones doesn't believe in a
lot of full contact in Spring Ball and does not have the level
of full contact nearly as much as most programs.. but thats
because Stallion knows more about football than June Jones!
